01 · Dock previews
See the window before you switch to it.
Hover over a running app's Dock icon to see live or static window previews. Click a thumbnail to bring that window forward. You can also close a window, quit the app, or drag a file over a preview to bring the destination window into view.
Screen Recording is used only to create window thumbnails.
02 · App hotkeys
Your favorite apps, one shortcut away.
Give your browser, Finder, or another everyday app its own shortcut. Press it to launch the app or bring it forward. Turn on Hide on Repeated Trigger to press it again and put the app away.
Choose your own key combinations. The ones in the video are just examples.
03 · Window layouts
Put your windows where you want them.
Split the screen into halves or thirds, tuck a window into a corner, or move it to another display. Use a shortcut, the green window button, or a drag zone. You can save your own layouts too.
Use your mouse or your keyboard—whichever feels easier.
04 · Clipboard history
Find that thing you copied earlier.
Turn on clipboard history, then press Command-Shift-C to search saved text, formatted content, links, images, and files. Your history stays on this Mac, and you can clear it whenever you like.
Items are skipped if the source app marks them as temporary, concealed, or automatically generated. This won't catch every sensitive item.
05 · Finder actions
Right-click to create a file or copy its path.
Add New File and Copy Path to Finder. In supported folders, you can create blank files, copy one or more paths, reveal hidden items or hide them again, and choose which app opens a selection.
Finder controls where extensions can appear. Some cloud folders managed through File Provider won't show these commands.
06 · Menu bar
Hide menu bar icons until you need them.
Hold Command and drag the icons you rarely use behind OmniDock's divider. Click to reveal them when you need them. Close the section yourself, or set it to close after 5–60 seconds.
You choose which icons go behind the divider. OmniDock doesn't sort or move them automatically.

A few things you might be wondering.
What is OmniDock?
OmniDock brings everyday Mac tools into one app: Dock window previews, click-to-hide, window switching and layouts, clipboard history, Finder shortcuts, and menu bar organization. It runs locally on your Mac.
How do I preview open windows from the Mac Dock?
Turn on Dock window previews in OmniDock, then hover over a running app's Dock icon. Click a thumbnail to bring that window forward. Previews depend on which windows macOS can capture.
How can I switch between windows of the same app on Mac?
Turn on OmniDock's Option-Tab switcher to choose between individual windows. If you prefer Command-Tab, you can add static previews above the selected app to see its windows.
Does OmniDock replace Command-Tab?
No. Command-Tab still works as usual. OmniDock can add static window previews above the selected app. Option-Tab is another option for switching between individual windows.
Is OmniDock free and open source?
Yes. OmniDock is free, with source code available under the GNU GPL v3. You can download signed DMG and ZIP files from GitHub Releases.
Why does OmniDock need macOS permissions?
Accessibility lets OmniDock work with your Dock and windows. Input Monitoring detects Dock clicks and Option-Tab, while Screen Recording is used to create window thumbnails. You only need the permissions for the features you turn on.
Does OmniDock upload my clipboard history?
No. Clipboard history is off until you enable it, and saved items stay on your Mac. OmniDock skips items that the source app marks as temporary, concealed, or automatically generated, but it can't identify every sensitive item.
Which Macs can run OmniDock?
Any supported Mac running macOS 12.3 or later. The same Universal download works on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
Do I need to enable every OmniDock feature?
No. Start with the tools you need. Some preview and window-switching options also need Show Dock Window Previews turned on. Settings shows which permissions each feature needs.
