Mac menu bar organization
Hide Mac menu bar icons until you need them.
Some menu bar icons are useful all day. Others only need an occasional click. Put the less-used ones behind OmniDock's divider and reveal them when you need them.
The demo shows the hidden section opening and closing. Which icons go in that section is up to you.
How to hide a menu bar icon with OmniDock
- Click
ODin the menu bar and openHidden Bar. - Turn on
Enable Hidden Bar. - Hold
Commandand drag an icon across the divider into the hidden section. - Click OmniDock's show/hide control to open or close that section.
You arrange icons in the menu bar itself. OmniDock doesn't pick, sort, or move them for you.
Close it yourself, or let the timer do it
Leave automatic hiding off if you'd rather close the section yourself. Turn on Automatically Hide to close it after a delay of 5 to 60 seconds.
The delay applies after you've opened the section. It doesn't decide which icons belong there.
Some system icons stay put
macOS may keep system-owned items such as the clock or Control Center in fixed positions. If an icon won't move, OmniDock can't force it across the divider.
